On Sunday the 13th Fremantle take on the Adelaide Crows at 11.10am and we'll be having a sausage sizzle at Hillcrest. So why not come along, have a beer and cheer on Freo (or Adelaide if you are a West Cost supporter). There is no need to RSVP, all welcome. We are also looking for some volunteers to help out with a "busy bee" at the club before the footy. If you would like any further info you can contact Michael Warwick on 0408 801 450 or e-mail us. Bayswater-Morley have ended the WACA pennant cricket season on a high note by winning the Fourth Grade premiership in defeating hot favorites Melville at Breckler Park on Sunday. Melville were the minor premiers, completing the home-and-away season without losing a game, but were no match for the Bears in the rain-shortened Grand Final. Write Comment (0 Comments) |

Bayswater-Morley experienced mixed fortune at the weekend as the WACA pennant cricket finals series progressed to the semi-final stage. Both the Bears Third and Fourth grades were scheduled to play Fremantle and Subiaco-Floreat respectively at Perth's Fletcher Park, but the pitches on both grounds were left uncovered during the mid-week rains and were unfit for play on Saturday.Write Comment (0 Comments) |

A fateful toss of the coin has ended Bayswater-Morley's brave challenge for the WACA first-grade pennant at Hillcrest Reserve at the weekend. Bears skipper Marcus North lost the call to his South Perth counterpart Darren Wates and was duly invited to bat. The Hillcrest track is known to be lively early on the first day and both captains were anxious to give their bowlers the first use. Within the first 6 overs Bayswater was reeling at 3-8 and never truly recovered. Write Comment (0 Comments) |

Bayswater-Morley prepared themselves for the WACA first-grade pennant finals series with an emphatic win over Midland-Guildford at Hillcrest Reserve on Saturday. Winning the toss and batting on the first day, the Bears did not cope well with the bowler-friendly track and were dismissed for a mediocre total of 168 shortly after tea. Only Ryan Phillimore, who opened the batting, made any real impression with a solid 48 in his two hours at the crease. However, the game was left evenly poised with the visitors losing three wickets for 58 at the close of play with the dangerous Peter Worthington unbeaten on 29.Write Comment (0 Comments) |
