Gibbs was no match for Domenic Crouch in a training session at the WACA just before the first Test in Perth. He had Gibbs struggling and picked him up caught behind, Gibbs denied it, but the Media backed up the Baysie Boy. The whole affair was documented on radio, and we are lucky enough to have a copy that you can download. The file is an MP3 audio file that is about 1.3MB and the story goes for around 6 minutes, the Crouch affair is towards the end. Click on the file DomCrouch.mp3 to dowmload.

As part of the reunion celebrations club stalwart Eddie Metherall was asked to select his best XI from all of the Baysie players that he has witnessed during his 43 years on the scoreboard. Towards the end of the evening Eddie was invited up on stage and before making the announcement explained what a difficult decision it had been to settle on the final XI. Write Comment (0 Comments) |

A magnificent effort in the field, gave the thirds an outright against Scarborough. After Baysie made a moderate total of 182, Darren Mullooly took 6 wickets to dismiss Scarborough for 60. Andre enforced the follow-on and Scarborough was dismissed for 151. Baysie then made the 30 required comfortably. For the second time this season the 4th Grade have won outright in the final over of the game with their win against Claremont. The day was set up with Brett Johnson smashing his way to another century, finishing on 103no, and a well supported innings by Josh Daniells with 50. With a lead of 145 the afternoon seemed to balance out until Andrew Durnin took 3/6 in the last 20 minutes to secure an outright win for Baysie!Write Comment (0 Comments) |

Andre's stylish 125 steered the 3rd grade to a good position at the end of the first day. Approximately 2 hours of the day were lost due to rain, but a good run rate of over 4 an over resulted in a total of 6/240. Andre dominated the day including punishing the off spinners for 55 from 5 overs. Jordan Teo provided good support for Andre and will continure next week on 36 not out. Write Comment (0 Comments) |
