Bayswater/Morley Under 13's capped off a fantastic season with a gutsy win in it's final game of the season against Centurians at Iluka.

Being asked to bowl first, Baysie quickly had Centurians in trouble after  fiery opening spells from Peter Harrison (1/16) and Callum Van Houwelingen (1/8). The pressure was maintained by first  change bowlers Corey Dempster (2/7) and Matthew Kearney (2/7) as Centurians struggled to 6/40 in the 20th over. Centurians fought back to be 6/60 before off spinner Buzz Jurangpathy was introduced into the attack. He bowled with great maturity and soon had the batsmen struggling. He finished with figures of 3/8 off 5 overs and with Matthew Ridge picking up one scalp (1/10) Centurians were dismissed for only 82. It was a fantastic all round performance with the stand out being 3 great catches in the covers by Liam O'Connor.

Going into it's innings full of confidence, Baysie lost some early wickets and the pressure was quietly building as the target of 82 seemed more like 182. Baysie stumbled to 4/36 as Carlo Delprete joined Matthew Ridge at the crease. The Centurian bowlers were right on top and they could sense that they were in with a chance. However, Ridge and Del Prete knuckled down and managed to survive 5 tight overs to play themselves in and steady the ship. They then went about rebuilding the innings and showed great poise and character in taking the score past the target. There were scenes of jubiliation on the sidelines as Ridge hit the winning runs and the Coaching staff breathed a sigh of relief. When Del Prete was dismissed for a well made 30, the score was 5/110. Ridge was dismissed not long afterwards for a gutsy 34 and the innings eventually closed at the completion of the 40 overs at 8/137
