Bayswater-Morley have progressed to the WACA Under-Seventeen Grand Final with a resounding victory over local rivals Mount Lawley in their semi-final clash at Breckler Park on Saturday. The young Bears batted first and posted a formidable 5/293 in their allotted 60 overs. The innings was highlighted by what proved to be a match-winning partnership by opener Aaron Todd, who scored 135, and Philip Adams, who made 75.

Mount Lawley were unable to cope with the pressure of the target and summarily collapsed to be all out for a disappointing 98, with left-arm quick Muzani Adjie bagging 5-16 and leggie Sean O'Brien [3-16] destroying the Hawk's batting line-up.Bayswater will meet Joondalup in the Grand-Final next week at Richardson Park, South Perth.

However, the Bayswater Under-Fifteen team, in a campaign to win three consecutive Premierships, did not fare so well in the semi-final against Wanneroo at Hillcrest Reserve.  With the loss of three of their top-order batting to the National Schoolboys team competing in Canberra, the Bears were only able to graft 8-152, a total which Wanneroo comfortably surpassed with the loss of only three wickets.  The beast performances for Bayswater came from acting skipper Luke Shepherd who top-scored with 66, and a fine double from Ross Loiacano with 30 and 3-23.  Wanneroo will now meet Midland-Guildford for the title next weekend.
