As part of the reunion celebrations club stalwart Eddie Metherall was asked to select his best XI from all of the Baysie players that he has witnessed during his 43 years on the scoreboard.  Towards the end of the evening Eddie was invited up on stage and before making the announcement explained what a difficult decision it had been to settle on the final XI.

Eddie presented each of the selected players with a photograph that showed the XI listed on the scoreboard that is named in Eddie’s honour.  The team includes:

Ken McAullay
Derek Aslett
Gary Ireland
Danny McEvoy
Marcus North
Jamie Snadden
Mel O’Neil
Wayne Clark
Bob Massie
Bruce Reid

Wayne Clark was named captain of the side and spoke on behalf of the players.  Wayne then presented Eddie with his photograph which was followed by long applause form the crowd in recognition of Eddie’s magnificent contribution to our club.  It was fitting finale to what had been an excellent night, and one which Eddie will long remember.
